KEEPING IT REAL WITH JEFF SCHIMMEL!

Bring your lunch, as usual Jeff will work through the lunch break.

When you RSVP, please enter the correct amount you’re paying (e.g. $45 for full day; $25 for AM or PM sessions only). Then send me an email at [masked] indicating which session Option you’ve chosen. (AM/PM)

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Jeff offers our meetup group current information about what’s going on in the industry. As always, Jeff keeps it real!

YOU pick the topics that will be covered in the morning session; ANYTHING pertaining to writing and the industry. This can include specific questions on a story, outline, rewrite, etc. So many of our members have great ideas, we all can learn from each other as Jeff answers all our burning questions.

The afternoon session will focus on Reality TV. Before you turn away KNOW THIS: no one is saying to stop writing features. Jeff just wants us all to open our eyes to what is going on around us and encourage us to not turn our backs on something that could pay off. You don’t have to like Reality TV to totally understand what it’s about, and learn how it can pay your mortgage. Jeff will discuss why every writer is getting involved, the trends, what the networks want and don’t want, how to develop an idea into a pitch (big surprise, same process folks!), and how to create a “deck” that will allow you to share your idea.  Additionally, Jeff will “bring with him” live Skype guest, Eric Fleming, a successful industry writer/producer.

Your best bet? Your best value? Attend BOTH SESSIONS. If you’ve ever attended one of Jeff’s events, you KNOW you’ll walk away with extremely valuable information on so much. Full day attendees are encouraged to bring lunch with them. As usual, Jeff will continue to answer questions during lunch break. So much information, so little time! Jeff will also remain afterwards to answer any additional questions.

These event opportunities occur when they occur, not necessarily when we're ready for them. If you attended the Financing event, were you ready to finance your script? If you attended the Historical Screenplay event, were you working on an historical script? I wasn’t, but I do have an idea for one, and hope to (down the road) have to be thinking about financing. I attended those events to add to my arsenal of information. And nothing is different with this meetup. It’s here now, now’s the time to learn about it.

Additionally, while Jeff will only be in town for a few days, private sessions with Jeff will be available as time permits. Reserve your time NOW for a one-on-one with Jeff directly ([masked]),             Cost: $100 per hour.

October 5th is right around the corner. Seating is limited. Don’t wait, reserve your spot now. I’ll be there all day. Hope you’ll join us!

thanks everyone for making yet another great turn out at a jeff schimmel event! the morning session was filled with a myriad of topics, directed by participants' questions. and the afternoon session opened our eyes to what's happening in the industry (whether we "like" reality tv or not... jeff showed up just how easy it is to make money in the business). what a bonus to have a skype Q & A with eric fleming!! jeff is always SO generous with his time (running an extra hour and a half!!) and special thanks to brian mullan at the speakeasy comedy lounge for inviting our group back any time! long (in a good way), fulfilling day!

As usual, Jeff provided excellent insight in a refreshing, candid manner. I also enjoyed the Skype call with Eric Fleming; who also was very straightforward about his experiences in Hollywood. Jeff's presentation about pitching reality television ideas was fantastic. It was very eye-opening and practical. He used his experiences as a template for us to apply in our own pursuits; something that we would not find elsewhere. All of it was very valuable.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
