Lunch at Cibo, then Japanese Friendship Garden (Alternate/Second meeting)

Would you like to go to the Japanese friendship Garden, but you got stuck in a waiting list that was two miles long?

I will lead up a second group so that we can all enjoy it :)

Please check your RSVPs to ensure that you are only RSVP'd to one of these events as they are at the same time!

---------------------

Set in a restored 1913 bungalow, Cibo (pronounced "CHEE-boh") has hardwood floors, exposed brick, a stained-glass panel and a fireplace to set the mood while revitalizing the downtown Phoenix area with beautiful salads, antipasto, artisanal pizzas and housemade fresh pasta.

After lunch, we will take a stroll through the Japanese friendship garden.

Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix, named Ro Ho En is an authentic 3.5 acre Japanese Stroll Garden with tea garden and tea house. This tranquil and beautiful setting features more than 1,500 tons of hand-picked rock, stone footbridges, lanterns and more than 50 varieties of plants. As you stroll the path, you will enjoy flowing streams, a 12-foot waterfall, and a Koi pond with over 300 colorful Koi fish.

You can feed the Koi for just a dollar or two and it's a treat having a hundred or more Koi come up to you when feeding them, all while ducks try to ninja a few morsels before the fish get to it.

So, one group has lunch first, the other after the garden; but both groups are going to the garden together? Sorry I'm blond...

We could if we went to different lunch locations (even if Cibo could accommodate for 30 having that many for lunch goes against the intent of this Meetup group -- smaller event groups).

But right now the plan is still to either do lunch or the garden first depending on the group you are in.

I was just planning on doing the group completely separately, due to the number of people going. 30 or 40 people in a crowd is kind of a mob to deal with.

Can they handle all of us?

    September 30, 2013

    • Geoff

We're going in reverse order, but yes, the japanese friendship garden would be able to accommodate everyone at the same time.

We all could totally go to the garden at the same time, but the restaurant Cibo would very unlikey have 30 spots available for us. We'd have to do different lunches. That's totally up to Geoff.

Shelly, you are already on the first event, so I'm changing your RSVP to no! You can't do two things at the same time lol!
