Join us for a Saturday evening of cards, fun, and pot-luck in North West Phoenix!

NOTE: This is not the usual afternoon game we've done in the past. This is a Saturday EVENING event. Our game and pot-luck will run from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

These weekend games are great for anyone that has difficulty attending events on weeknights or a problem getting to our games elsewhere in town.

Please, come and join us! It doesn't matter if you're rusty at the game, a seasoned player, or never played before. Newcomers are always welcome too. Our past meetups have proven that we can bring together people for good, clean fun over a game of Spades.

Everything you need is provided. I'll provide the drinks, decks of cards, scoring paper, pencils, bid markers, nametags, and even instruction in how to play the game. YOU need to bring yourself (maybe a guest too), a competitive spirit, and some dinner type food items and desserts for the pot-luck.

We are meeting again in the community room at the back of the Bookmans used book store on the northwest corner of 19th Avenue and Northern.

When you first arrive please put on a nametag, drop your entry into our prize drawing, add your pot-luck items to the food table, and find a yourself a seat.

Order of business:
6:00 PM - Pick tables, choose partner, shuffle up, and deal
7:30 PMish - Break for prize drawing and group news
9:00 PM - Finish up our games and head out

Don't forget to RSVP (no matter if it's a yes, no, or a maybe). If you do decide to join us, make sure you put the date and time on your calendar so you won't forget!

I look forward to seeing you there. Thanks.

We had one game that goes in the record books during this evening. I've never before seen a single hand where one player went set, one had a busted nil, another made their nil, and the last player bagged heavily. That was cool. Too bad I was the one with the busted nil. Who'd have figured I'd bust on the 5 of clubs ...

Thanks to everyone who brought the great food dishes for the pot luck. It was excellent!

I've had some inquiries from people asking if we were going to cancel the event because of low RSVP turnout. The answer is 'NO'. As long as we get enough people to have even 1 table I'll have as much fun playing cards as we do when we've got 5 tables going.

I'll have coffee there this time. Just to let all our coffee drinkers know.

I'm asking people to bring dinner and dessert oriented dishes to the potluck this time instead of the afternoon snack items we've done in the past. We could use dinner dishes like casseroles, fruit salads, lettuce salads, potato salads, jellos, dessert cobblers, and more. Please avoid bringing in sloppy, greasy, or sticky finger food dishes like bbq wings, chicken, glazed doughnuts, and etc. In other words lets try to bring in foods that we can eat without making our cards messy.

Why a Saturday evening instead of an afternoon you ask. Well, why not? Besides, the room is already booked in the afternoon so we're going to give this time slot a try. At least it'll be a fun way to spend a Saturday evening with good people, dinner, and (of course) your favorite card game.

    •  Lots of fun, as always. It would be nice to have the 2 meetups in different weeks when possible next year. Love have the two venues.
    •  Fun challenging group of card players. Had a great time.

We had a smaller group, but it was still a whole lot of fun. I truly enjoy the company of the other players in this group. I was able to totally wind down after a long day. Thanks.
