Why: The cost of hosting the group on Meetup
We are patrons of the performing arts--theater, symphony, opera, ballet, comedy, puppetry, etc. We support all levels of performance, from high school productions to Off-Broadway shows. For productions where group discounts are available, we will coordinate a bulk purchase and sell the tickets through Meetup's RSVP system. For general admission events, we'll meet in advance and try to sit together.
I'm looking for assistant organizers--my passion is theater, but I would like to expand our meetup events to include all the performing arts. That being said, I will only be posting events to which I could take a pre-teen niece without any embarrassing explanations. If you know of any events that should be on our calendar, or would like to join me as an organizer, please let me know!
The $2 in dues is to help our members commit to being active participants and to help defray the monthly website expenses. I expect you'll make it up on discounted tickets to shows.
