Hey Phonegappers. Just wanted to check in and say thanks again for the meetup. After seeing Didier's awesome Ionic app, I went through the trouble of converting my lame JQueryMobile+Angular app over to Ionic, and WOW. Loving it. Still having a major issue with Phonegap/Cordova, though, that is kind of a deal breaker for releasing my app. Android's activity sweeper is known to close down Cordova apps while they are using the Camera + Capture plugins when memory is tight (quite often), resulting in a hard RESTART of the app when the capture activity is finished:

Solutions in the SO thread are out of date. Is it possible for the native Cordova plugins to be modified to prevent this terrible restart behavior? Or does it need a custom plugin situation?

I've posted to the Cordova dev list but no response yet. Thought I would also reach out to the Phonegap team here.

    Thanks all!

Hey Marc, I looked at it very quickly, but have you try this plugin: ?

Thanks Didier... it's great that someone has forked the Cordova Camera plugin and updated it to Cordova 3 to avoid this problem, nice to know. Unfortunately I am using the Media Capture plugin because it allows capturing more than one image at once (Camera only allows one picture per session). I looked around and nobody is working on the foreground version of the Capture plugin, unfortunately. Anyway, it seems like this is something that the Cordova team should have as a high priority on their dev roadmap, since it is a pretty serious UX problem...

Awesome Meetup, guys and gals! Would love to see more of these, on a variety of Cordova/Phonegap topics. I work a few blocks from Adobe so it's super convenient as well. Look forward to seeing you all again soon!

I'm hoping some can help me get Ant properly configured on my Mac. This is were I've been stuck for quite a while now.
Have to say, based on my experience, The phonegap set up process is TERRIBLE.

Do you really think I hadn't already checked that? Phonegap still wont recognize Ant when I try to add the android platform.

Hey Peter, take it easy on the Cordova/Phonegap team. It's built on an open-source platform and yes, it can be difficult and frustrating. But this is true of all open-source tools, and, indeed programming in general. If you want people to help, you might try a more appreciative tone...

Thank you veryone who come to the meetup! Here is the link to the presentation. Hope you guys liked it. Any comments or questions? Please tell me about it!

Well, it took both the presenter and one of the phonegap employees to do it, but they finally figured out how to get my environment set up. "I've never seen these errors before." My conclusion is that set up and install still needs a lot of work. Just following the instructions on the official phonegap documentation does not guarentee a successful install.

My team and I are working on a supa cool visual & musical project called the Wavo, as a big fan of this community, I really had to share it:

Wavo was born in a hackathon (, we actually won it!
Now we’re bringing the product to reality with the help of the awesome mentors they provide us (engineering, design, law, media, video).

Wavo is a tangible controller that sends bluetooth (BLE) commands to a computer/smart device to play & visualize music. It aims towards getting younger kids into art/music exploration, but it's really fun to play with it and to hack it ;p

We're looking for an enthusiastic Web App Developer to work with us as a co-founder. Most of us have jobs so we're hoping for someone independent who shares our passion about interaction, music & visual arts.

We're not crowdfunding before the end of the year, but don't wait, contact us and let's hack together!

    Spread the word ;)

My co-worker and I need a way to save the PushID for an iPhone. We tried 5 different plugins with no results (they all same outdated) and no one is answering our calls via email/twitter/dm. If anyone can help feel free to contact us at @KeychainDev or reply here

The app is for and we currently have the Phonegap Android version in the Play Store
