This will be a really unique and exciting trip for our club. We will be guided by two local English/Italian speaking guides on bike through the beautiful countrysides of Sicily. Our luggage and belongings will be transported for us each day from hotel to hotel. We’ll stop at many beautiful viewpoints, vineyards, organic farms & even stay at a unique farmhouse lodging one night!

*7 nights/8 day bike trip throughout Sicily (Easy biking throughout)

*Charming bed & breakfasts

*Breakfast everyday

* Welcome Wine & Food reception

* Wine Tasting; Chocolate Tasting; Cheese Tasting

* High-quality touring bicycles, helmets, locks & equipment included

*Photographer with us throughout to teach and offer photography tips & tricks for anyone interested

*Explore Noto (Noto is a living art gallery. It’s historical center is rich with churches, aristocratic palaces, stately piazzas, & beautiful streets which wind harmoniously about one another)

*Ride the valley’s “Wine Route” through Noto’s rich countryside (cycle through beautiful almond orchards, olive & lemon trees, & lush vineyards)

*Refreshing stop & swim at Vendicari Nature Reserve (famous for its beautiful waters, bird life, & diverse vegetation)

*Scenic ride to a Marina di Ragusa ( we’ll follow a patchwork of roads winding through old fishing towns, chic resorts, across a rocky cliff and sandy beach!)

*Iblean plateau (we’ll pass through richly cultivated fields of grain where cows graze freely, gently rolling hills dotted by old stone farmhouses, small vineyards, and the colorful country villas of Ragusan nobles, all framed by the lovely dry stone walls. Amazing panoramic views!)

*Explore the Baroque city of Ragusa (18 UNESCO heritage monuments, the entire historical center is a fun and fascinating maze of archways, exquisite Baroque churches, staircases, and stately palaces)

*Visit Modica, the city of chocolate. Another exquisite Baroque city, Modica also produces a historical oddity: Aztec chocolate

*Ride through the classic Iblean countryside toward the hillier altopiano mesa (small farms, fields of grain and Baroque fortified noble villas. This countryside is the thriving stronghold of Sicilian cuisine – the shepherds maintain a fierce tradition caciocavallo, provola and ricotta cheeses, produced in small-batches from their carefully watched herds)

*Sample home made cheeses, wines, olive oils, & vegatables from an old  farmhouse and their owners en route to Palazzolo Acreide

*Palazzolo Acreide (lively town with a fascinating visual history. Founded by the ancient Greeks in 664 BC,  you can pick out layers of history as you walk the streets: a Norman castle, a Medieval street-plan, Baroque church facades, a Greek amphitheater)

*Pantalica Canyon (A wild and eerie mountain once home to pre-historic cave-dwelling populations from the 13th to the 7th centuries BC. Fleeing invaders from Ancient Greece, they dug houses and over 5,000 tombs out of the rock)

*Our final route follows the tracks of an old railway, offering a continuous gentle downhill, until the Reserve’s exit, where we find ourselves at our last evening’s accommodation, the “Sacred Stones” Farm dedicated to preserving the canyon’s environment.

*Easy. 15-20 mile rides daily along flat to gently rolling grades. Terrain is mixed asphalt, dirt roads, and grassy/rocky paths

*Luggage transport between accommodations as we ride

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
