The group's name is being changed toCaptureTheLight - Philadelphiaand the name tied to PhotoFusionUSA is being dropped. PhotoFusionUSA.com will be sponsoring all theCaptureTheLightmeetups nationally, meaning that from time to time it will give perks toCaptureTheLightmembers.
This process is to separate the commercial entity of PhotoFusionUSA.com from Meetup and help CaptureTheLight become a distinguishable social environment that Meetup.com was intended for.
To put everything into perspective, I have chosen a not-for-profit organization: MyFace.org to be the benefactor of all fees collected through CaptureTheLight meetups, less the meetup, paypal or CC fees of course. The accounting records will remain open in this meetup group’s money page.
It has been my experience when meetups are free, everyone RSVP's and only 10% show up.
I have had success in charging a stipend for events that are relatively free, like meeting at a park for a photo-walk etc. The $5 or $10 wasn't intended to be a source of income. I regularly put that money into use for contests or paying for group dues.
Now the fees collected are justifiable, they have merit and a cause. CaptureTheLight is committed to changing the lives of many. I can’t wait until the end of next year to see how much money was raised through these efforts.
I feel compelled to ask members who have a few spare hours a month to help by hosting some events. The more events, the more money is raised, and the more active the group is. It’s a win win for everyone! Let's make his happen!

PhotoFusionUSA.com is committed too! I'll be traveling nationally starting CaptureTheLight Groups to help raise awareness of MyFace.org and donating workshops as a means of fundraising.
Hang on to your hats as CaptureTheLight prepares for some exciting and rewarding events. Not just in SouthFlorida but in some great spots near and far.
What a great way to make new friends. Whether you're married, single, young, mature (cough cough), this group is truly the melting pot of photographers.
Photography is, of course, the main subject. If you're into photography, join us! Bring your point-and-shoot or DSLR. Regardless of what camera you own, photography is photography whether you shoot with a cell phone or a Hasselblad.
If you are looking to get into photography professionally, then PhotoFusionUSA.com is a great source to help you achieve your goals. If you are a beginner, PhotoFusionUSA.com offers classes, workshops and private lessons.
