This one starts at 6:00pm
When you come you learn! - MAXIMUM Class size = 4
STOP and READ!!
This workshop is all about photography, theory and creativity. It is suited for all skill levels. Shooting in Auto or Manual you will learn at the level you are in and progress with great results. Keep in mind that there are only 4 students.
Modeling is PG to PG-13
Shooting in the Princeton Campus
The class is interactive and shooting a model in a public environment (street, park, lounge, home setting etc.) will be continuously done while the lesson progresses.
THIS IS NOT A TFP (trade for picture) -
No one is obligated to give images to the models. Kelly would appreciate images you may want to share, but she completely understands everyones busy schedule and how some may not feel comfortable showing their work just yet.
Weather will not impact the workshop as it can be performed indoors or out.
Length of time: 1-1/2 hours long
Skill level: Beginners, Novice , Intermediates
Each workshop has a variety of topics that will be practiced while shooting a model.
Todays Subject matter:
- Get better at focusing and metering
Nows the time to fidget with your camera and finally get things right
- Identifying the direction of the main light and using it to enhance the subject
Everyone knows by now how I explain and I teach by example. With available light you will learn to work with it and create stunning head shots.
- Composing your subject
Simple posing techniques that always hit a home run. Impress your friends the next time you "take a shot"
- Lens selection
Ha! Now you see it first hand. How dramatic the changes are when using the wrong lens. Make your lenses work for you and not against you.
- Deciding on the depth of field
You see the beautiful Bokeh other photographers get and you just can't achieve it. Learn why and the pitfalls you might have put yourself into.
- Choosing the shutter speed for a variety of effects
How slow is too slow when shooting a person. To blur or not to blur.
- How noise can be eliminated when using a high ISO
The importance of tuning into your environment and feeling the light, knowing the dark side and shooting the right "film" for the right environment. How the new photographers are missing out by letting the camera do all the thinking.
June 27th, I had the pleasure of interviewing Kelly in Metuchen. She's now joined up with WorldChoiceModels and will be participating in our workshops in Jersey. She's a wonderful model. Her experience as a gymnast will most definitely help her stand out from the rest. Reliable, friendly and hospitable.
If there ever was a "girl" that truly exemplifies "the girl next door look" Kelly is she.
What to bring: the obvious and your assortment of lenses (time to see what they are for)
Though I pay all the models, they spend a lot of time behind the scenes helping before the shoot so bring some cash as I always pass the hat around for tips to models. They all work hard, travel and put up with a lot.
That's all you need to bring.
Sign up now! Limited to 4 students per workshop.
