Photochrome Adventures: Golden Gate Park – Stow Lake and Vicinity

9:30 a.m.      Meet in the de Young Museum Cafe

10:00-12:00  Explore Stow Lake and vicinity. Stow Lake has many interesting subjects: rustic bridges, Chinese Pagoda, boat rides, and wildlife such as birds, turtles and strolling humans. Other potential photo ops nearby: Rose Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, the Music Concourse, and museums.

11:30-12:00  Meet back at de Young Cafe to discuss our photography and have a show-and-tell session. The start time for this is flexible to allow for walking time between locations.

If you arrive by car, note that JFK is closed east of the museum from Tea Garden Drive to Transverse Drive on Saturdays. Street parking is limited to four hours. Paid parking is available in the lot under the Music Concourse ($5/hour).

The free Golden Gate Park Shuttle runs every 15-20 minutes along JFK.

You have several options if arriving by Muni:
• 44-O’Shaughnessy stops almost directly in front of the de Young Café
• 5-Fulton stops at 8th and Fulton
• 28-19th Avenue stops at Park Presidio and Fulton.
• N-Judah stops at 9th and Irving
