I saw you out there Paula helping one of the kids right off. I bet they appreciated having two pros out there! Would love to see your kites sometime. Would make a great meet up!

I know...I was so surprised on Saturday there was enough wind to get those kites up! This area isn't known for being windy. If you see a day in the long term forecast that looks promising, let me know and I'll set up the meetup.

sounds like a plan Sandy..hopefully soon or in the fall, summer winds and heat thermals don't make for good flying.

Folks, I am changing my RSVP. I am scheduled to be in AJ at 6pm and that would be 2 trips to the east side on Saturday.

    March 21, 2013

    • Sandy

But the east side is soooo nice :) See you at AJ!

Bill, Tim has a approx. 13ft Parrot Kite if you are looking for something colorful to photograph...just need the wind to get it into the air.

Bill - no idea - I'll leave that to the experts :)

I think a zoom would be best for getting the kites, but a lot of the action will be the people! (At least based on my "Charlie Brown" experiences of flying kites. Should be sunny and lots of action, so I'm not sure a tripod is needed.

Tim and I are keeping our fingers crossed..we are thinking (if there's wind) of finding a field afterwards with less people and trying out our duel lines.

Hi Everyone. There is no mention in the description of where in the park this is taking place. I'm sure that the event will be easy to find once we are there. Therefore, I will be standing next to the street along the area where the event is taking place at 11:00. We can meet up as a group there, talk a little about what's going on and see who's there and then go off and take pics. If you're late, I'm sure you'll spot some members walking around the event (look for cameras). My cell phone is [masked] if you need directons once you get there. See you on Saturday.

That's why I thought "at least there is a fountain". :) Plus it sounds like a cultural fest.

Tim and I are going to bring a couple of our kites just in case. Maybe one of our duel lines and a single line or two..not sure yet..just in case there is wind and a field where we can fly.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
