Had a great time! It was nice seeing all those photographers out shooting all at once! I got a chance to meet a few people personally - but hopefully I'll get to talk to more of you next time. Thanks to everyone that came out! It was fun!

Would love to be there, I'm pretty new to photography it'd be amazing a picture of Austin's skyline but unfortunately I have another commitment that day. I hope this opportunity will present another time, I'll be excited to be in it! Have fun y'all and share the pics ;)

I will likely be there - but I suggest that next downtown shots in the late afternoon be done during weekdays (workdays) because the buildings will have more lighting. On Sundays, most will have dark floors if night falls while we shoot so it will not be such effective photography.

Unfortunately, I work until about 6-6:30 on week nights, so a photo shoot on a weekday won't work for me until next Spring. That's one reason I scheduled this meetup event for a weekend. The other reason is the full moon. My goal is not to include the moon in the photo. But rather benefit from the additional natural light it will provide on te night sky making for shorter exposure times.

We will still get nice sunset reflection shots on Sunday which we can do anything to them in processing! No worries.

Several have mentioned that this happens during F-1 weekend, I am just wondering if some might be interested in going to the "Fan Fest" like they had last year? Last year they had the Red Bull car on a ramp so you could see it, there were several musical stages available and it always seems when members of the group get together we have a great time. I would be interested in going on either Friday or Saturday night myself.

    • Tricia

George, I am open to either night. Maybe Allen needs to create a virtual F-1 event for the weekend so those that can't meet as a group but are going to Fan Fest or the races can post pics throughout the weekend.

Tricia, according to Allen's post down below, anyone can post an event, but it won't go public until 3 people sign up for it. That is why I was trying to see the interest before I posted it and then it never happened.

The Austin Skyline Meetup represents a bit of a change for Photographer Adventure Group. With our organizer Bryan Lott somewhat out of commission and Tracy and I having busy schedules we made a change to the way meetups are announced, something of an experiment. As before anyone can suggested a meetup but before an organizer had to announce a suggested meetup to make it official. Now once 3 people sign up for a suggested meetup, the meetup is automatically announced. We can try this for a while and see how it works. Please provide your feed back to Bryan, Tracy and me to let us know how you like this change.

I am amateur, but love what I do. I work 60 hrs. a week so I never have time to take pictures. would like to meet up in one of the group meetings.
