Summer Meetup at Forsythe NWR

Now that the Spring Migration has pretty much been completed, the usual summer suspects are showing up.  Herons, Egrets, Skimmers, Willets, Osprey, Rails, Marsh Wrens, Grosebeaks, Common Yellowthroats, and all kinds of shorebirds.  Unfortunately Greenhead flies, mosquitos,  and gnats are also out there now, so bring insect repellent.

We will meet at the observation tower at the Gull Pond turn-around.  To find the tower, go past the visitor center and down the hill.   Pass the boardwalk on your right and continue down the road.  You will see the gated enterence to Wildlife Drive on your right.  Drive past the gate and continue going straight down the road until it ends at a circle.  You will see a large observation tower in the center of that circle.  That is where we meet for all Forsythe Meetups.   (GPS[masked], [masked]).

I will be at the tower around 7:15AM.  Once everyone shows we can move out onto the drive and then meet back up at the tower after the first pass around 8:45-9:00 AM to compare notes and discuss whats out there before making a second pass. If the weather goes bad for that weekend a cancellation notice will go out 36-24 hours before the meetup.

After the light gets too intense to shoot in, it should be around 10:30 AM or so and we can disscuss going to Celina's for lunch for those who have intrest.  Celina's cafe is located at 68 West Jimmie Leeds Road, in Galloway, NJ (08205)[masked], just a few miles from the refuge. It's in the "Sunrise Plaza" at the end of the small strip mall, at the intersection of Chris Gaupp Road.  (GPS[masked], [masked]).  Very easy to get to from the refuge.
