This group was first founded by Pete Sherrard and succeeded by Hitomi Kammai in June 2015.

Hitomi is a prize winning artist and curator. Based on her 13 years experience in exhibiting and her wide network which includes professional photographers,  Hitomi decided to succeed the group in June 2015.

LPC is for everyone, irrespective of level of experience, who wants to enjoy photography and make progress together by doing assignments, networking, visiting exhibitions and exhibiting!

How we operate:

People participating in the assignments will bring selected work to a Meetup in order to present their images, obtain feedback, review other people's work and provide them with feedback. Participants will help each other to improve techniques or defining their own style. Some assignments may be conducted by a guest photographer.

Those who did not participate in the assignment can also bring their photography and discuss it with each other. We can share information or find a collaborator to work together. We will go for a drink/dinner or visit photography exhibitions.

Group show

We aim to hold an exhibition at least once a year.

1) For each assignment, each group member can select a maximum of 5 photos to present at the end-of-assignment Meetup.

2) Only photos presented by the photographer at the end-of-assignment Meetup will be reviewed, i.e. it is not sufficient to upload them to the group gallery.

3) Giving effective feedback: Feedback must be given in a way that is intended to add value (as opposed to insult). Each person has their own individual taste and creative voice; please respect that.

Whether you like or dislike an image, it is helpful to say what about it you do or don't like. Even better, before forming your judgement, question the photographer about the work and understanding. Express your opinions as opinions, not as facts.

In the end, please help us to get more people involved. Invite your photography friends to join in the group, help with finding a sponsor or collaborator. We look forward to seeing your works and achievement!
