Hi Fran good effort, I take it this is the fear of crime right. The bars kinda remind you of prison and the graffiti reminders you of social disorder. The shades, fencing give you a sense of being trapped in a dark place as there is no clear way out from your perspective. I hope that made sense please tell me off if not

Hi Francesco. It was good to meet you yesterday. This image reminds me of something from the famous French filmLa Haine http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113247/. Gritty, urban, oppressive. The composition works well and the bars stopping you going in (or getting out) really give you a slight, but definite sense of fear. As far as the image is concerned. I think it looks a bit over weighted to the left. The tunnel is very dark and heavy but the view of the car park on the right is very bright. If you darkened the right, it would bring out the gritty, menacing feel of that too. ANd by lightening the shadows in the tunnel a bit it would allow us too see right down into that black space and increase the oppressive feeling I think. Try darkening the corners of the image a few percent too. That will make us feel even more trapped.

My overall first impression is that this looks like quite a depressing place. The tunnel helps to make it scary. Maybe the inhabitants feel fear living here. Anyway, its a nice capture but I agree with Pete about lightining the tunnel up a bit so we can see where we would be trapped- and you would probably see more graffiti too! The desolate car park on the right is a good view.

Thanks all for the comments, I intentionally darkened the tunnel to make more oppressive, and I probably overdid in post production and neglected the rest of the picture. I ll take your inputs and work a bit more on it.

Its a good shot. I wasn't that aware that Notting Hill was on the doorstep with housing estates. would have taken the shot in Portrait so that the walkway you were on would lead into the tunnel a bit. I does have a touch of L'Haine about it just needs a skin head Vincent Cassel and a cow walking about......

Yes, good shot, and how different is that from those posh huge stucco and portico houses....That definitely would put the fear in me if I had to walk through there later at night, so I think it meets the brief very well, I agree with what has been said already, I too would have given it just a bit more space above the gate and lighten the tunnel just a tad.

good composition and angle on the tunnel, it draws you in ... as above it could be improved if the inside was just a little lighter - but on the other hand maybe the darkness is concealing something lurking in there??
