Greetings Students of Photographic Lighing,
On Saturday, May 19 we will take our outdoor lighting workshop to Woods Canyon Lake, east of Payson, AZ about two hours north of Phoenix.
In a natural setting of Pines and Aspens we will explore creating beautiful portrait lighting under various conditions. We will lower the Exposure Value of the sun with a variable neutral density filter and redirect the sun's apparent position with single and multiple shoe mount flash units, creating a morning or afternoon setting.
Photographing in manual, we will learn how to control and adjust the mix of ambient and auxiliary lighting to create mood, drama and visual interest.
The natural surroundings will create the setting, our lovely models will provide the photographic inspiration and we will control the light, like having a portable sunset in our pockets.
We will use a neutral density filter to control the brightness of the sun and allow for the use of an f-2.8 aperture in bright sun. We will learn how to create and augment natural light.
RSVP soon, so I will have an accurate head count.
You will want to bring a picnic lunch and plenty of water and juice, as well as, of course,... your camera.
More detail of the trip will follow.
