Editing Landscapes with Lightroom 4

Before and after images of the type of photos we will be working on

In this class we will review several techniques to quickly and easily edit your landscape photos using Lightroom 4 or 5.  You'll be surprised how in just a few minutes you will be able to put some pizzazz into your photographs, taking them from dull, lifeless images to photos that will amaze your friends.

The techniques we will cover would be considered between beginner and intermediate.  A basic understanding of Lightroom would be helpful prior to coming the the class but is not necessary.

I am quite familiar with many of lightrooms features but still learner a lot. The pace was excellent, the talk was well organized and the speaker definitely held my attention. The morning seemed to fly by,

After the class, someone told me to download "camera raw plug in" to read my raw (tiff) files in Elements 10 on my Mac. I wonder if there is anyone can help me with this and send me a message? I did download it through Adobe; however it didn't change anything though at the end of the process confirming "can now be used." Thank you.

LR 5 Has nothing to do with your working in PSE10 .

Look for PSE 10 up dates. PSE will then be compatible with D7100

Hi Don, Thanks for a great class. I learned a lot.
You had some handouts for something in August, but they were gone before I got to you. Do you have the info?
    Thanks

Thank you Don, I hope I will be able to make it from the next class, to me it seems " a loss of knowledge" by missing your classes. May be any next session on Lightroom editing will help

Do we bring our laptops or cameras?

    July 9, 2013

    • Don H

You will not need either but feel free to bring them both. Unfortunately we no longer have access to the rectangular tables so we have to set up the room in theater setting (chairs only) vs. a classroom setting with tables for your laptops. There are power outlets around the room if you need them. There are lots of places around the Refinery to photography after the class

Is there any class fee I should prepare for?

    July 9, 2013

    • Don H

This class like all of our other classes are free.

    Don:

Since shooting RAW is a central theme of most of your presentations, could you please cover getting CR2 into Lightroom. I find Adobe Converter difficult to use, but I may be doing something wrong.

    Thanks

In this class we will be focusing on editing and not on importing or explanations of the various modules. For a quick tutorial on importing check out Julieanne Kost's You Tube video https://www.youtube.co... . Or you can head over to Kelby Training or Linda.com to watch their introduction to Lightroom. Both have somewhere close to 10 hours of instruction. Both have a monthly fee but you can watch as many videos as you like. Linda.com has a 7 day free trial. If you want to get together after the class I'll be happy to meet with you then to answer any questions about importing.

I'm using LR3. Is it similar enough to LR4 to make the class relevant?

    June 21, 2013

    • Don H

There were major changes from LR3 to LR4. All the sliders changed giving you a lot more control in the shadows and highlights. The class will be relevant but once you see how much better LR4 is you'll be putting in a upgrade in the budget.

      June 21, 2013

    • Don H

That said, it is relevant and hope to see you there.
