LEARNING TO SHOOT VIDEO ON YOUR DSLR

In this two hour workshop we will learn the basics on shooting video with your DSLR. We will cover topics such as, camera settings, color control, camera motion, and post workflow. You can use the knowledge from this course on all Canon DSLR's.

About the speaker:

Genaro Arroyo has been teaching technical classes for Canon for the last seven years.  In the last 10 years, he has shot multiple music videos, short stories, and feature films, working with MTV, ABC, NBC and independent production companies. He first learned how to shoot in a digital format and later taught himself how to shoot on film. At a young age he was fascinated in both taking images and working with lighting to have dramatic effects. He has a Bachelor of Science in Video Productions from The Art Institute of Los Angeles.

Genaro’s presentation skills conveyed a range of basic to advanced information in a lively & entertaining format. I really enjoyed the program. Thanks Don for hosting another outstanding event. Now where’s that rep from Nikon!

I think Genaro did an excellent job. He stayed to the outline, he was organized and on time. My mind is just busting with all the information provided today. I am so looking forward to experimenting with my Canon using the instruction he provided today. If you can provide a YouTube of today, I would watch it over and over again because there was so much to absorb.

Being that I'm a Nikon shooter, could not relate too much to the presentation but Genado was awesome. Those who are Canon shooters and didn't attend, you missed out on a outstanding video presentation.

Genaro lived up to his billing, and more! Very well done. He answered questions to the depth needed, and he could go deeper if pushed. And he kept a smile on the whole time, and related the examples to real shooting situations that are going to be encountered.

I didn't know how much I didn't know about videoing with a DSLR!

My first trip to the Refinery I too took the toll road and also found out there were two Portola's. Paid twice to get on the right road.

The class Shooting Video on DSLR put on by Cannon with Genara Arroys, presenting was superb. Genara, is a master of the subject he was able to show both sides of film makers cinema photographers Vs DSLR photographers. What a great learning session.

Like the beginners class that Lance from Canon taught a couple weeks ago there will be good information for all regardless of the make of your camera. I will be there with my Nikon D800.

Same question as James4ASU, Is this class specific to Canon DSLR user. My Nikon has video capabilities but I have never use it. Going to Venice Italy in Sept. and will want to use video occasionally.

I'll be there with my Nikon, ready to learn how to shoot video.

Is this class specific to Canon DSLR? I shoot on a micro 4/3 mirrorless. Panasonic GH2 to be exact. Would this be a class that would benefit for someone using a micro 4/3?

    February 1, 2014

    • Don H

James, while Genaro works for Canon there will be great takeaways for anyone using any brand of DSLR much like the class a little over a week ago by Lance Folden who also works for Canon.

I keep forgetting to use video on my camera so this will be a perfect class.

Steve, I am not going to make this particular class, but I needed training in this area a while back and found incredibly detailed videos on youtube just type in your specific camera's model and make and shooting video with your DSLR and see what you get. Hope this helps.
