HDR Landscapes & Seascapes: The Art & Science of Capturing, Processing, Finishing, and Printing HDR Photography.
From taking seven exposures at 1EV intervals with a Nikon D800E and 14-24mm F/2.8 Nikkor wide angle lens, to utilizing the internal HDR function of the Sony mirrorless and other cameras, all forms of HDR photography are examined. With a Ph.D. in physics that focused on silicon sensors and artificial retinas for the blind, Dr. E will lead the class with scenic HDR examples and the basic science behind it, culminating in processing and finishing seven RAW exposures in Photomatix and Lightroom, demoing all the specific toolsets live. Prints of Dr. E’s landscapes/seacapes/surfers and goddesses will be hanging on the walls, and he will be happy to answer any questions regarding their acquisition and development. Dr. E will share all of Malibu’s most scenic locations for landscapes in the canyons and seascapes at the northern beaches. Ideal for beginners with camera phones and point-and-shoots, as well as more advanced photographers with DSLRs.
This is an intermediate to advanced class, basic knowledge of DSLR photography is required as well as knowledge of Lightroom. If you don't know what HDR Photography is, this class is probably not for you.
