Portrait Workshop in the Park

Spend a summer afternoon in the park and learn how to take better natural portraits of your family and friends. The park should offer a nice background on the lakefront, open shade under the trees and nice evening light.

Bring your family, friends, your camera and a picnic. If you're an experienced portrait photographer, please come and share your tips.

The last time we tried to do this in June we got rained out. Let's hope for a drier day in July!

What happened to the picnic part of this? Don't photographers like picnics?

I am interested in coming but don't have anyone available to bring - is it worth me coming to learn? Or do you really need someone along?

So much fun; thanks to all! If anyone wants the originals for a shot that you/family are in, drop me a line at archaeofrog at gmail, and if anyone wants to share any me-in-the-tree shots, you can do that too.

@##%!! I totally forgot, I am so sorry. I've been out shopping for clothes(first time since I've lost weight) and I was just in the zone and forgot. Great night for it. Sorry I missed it.

We bring our own food and drink, right? Or is it a potluck to share food?

    July 20, 2013

    • Kris H.

It's BYO. But if you have something to share that's cool too.

gosh weekends are hard, but i'm going to try and make this a priority. i'm not sure what the bug level will be by then, but if it's anything like last weekend, they could send us packing. i have never been eaten up just by gants before. the mosquitos left me alone and ate my son instead :( emily, i love that you have a 4 year old to bring, as little kids make the best models for portrait practice.

Am aiming to make it! Evenings are hard for me, weekends I can squeeze something in a little better :) Bringing a rambunctious 4 year old, for anyone who wants to learn to shoot child portraits at warp speed ;)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
