http://www.ferrybluff... When the rivers and lakes freeze up north, the bald eagles come down to the open water from Sauk Prairie to the Mississippi River. Sauk Prairie puts on a little show around this time. (actually right now is a good time to go, and a little warmer) So let's go up on this Eagle Watching Days in mid-January on a saturday morning. Central point is a school there. I'd like to get there by 9am for a talk by a local photographer, I saw him last year and it was interesting. after that there are some spots to see bald eagles along the river. There are some volunteers who know the area and will be there, with a telescope for up close views. Dress warm, last year it was about 15 with a light snow. I'll skip it if we get a snowstorm. It's about 30 minutes from the west side, and 45 from the east side of Madison. Car pooling suggested. Let's find a spot to meet(someone know a park 'n ride on the west side?), and leave about 8am--firmer details later. Probably returning around noon.
