The calendar says it's spring, and I refuse to believe otherwise! I hope that you have taken advantage, either of breaks in the weather or of the last legs of winter, to get out there and take some pictures. The Madison Photography Meetup Group, too, has been hard at work offering a variety of activities like the Spring Flower Show at Olbrich Gardens, MODA Magazine's Spring Fashion Week Runway Show, and the Fight For Air Walk for the American Lung Association in Milwaukee.
The April monthly meeting is coming up a week from tomorrow April 4th at 6:30 pm at the Alicia Ashman branch library. The theme for your photos, thanks to a great presentation by one of our co-organizers Steven, is composition. First, choose Black & White or Color, then:
Another of our co-organizers Adam will lead the "Pick 3" slideshow of member images. We will present each person's pictures, ask that person to introduce themselves, and then talk a little about one or two of their photos. The group also has an opportunity to offer up praise, constructive criticism, or ask questions about that member's pictures. You can start adding and tagging your photos in the Flickr group over the next week. For tips on adding photos to the group, check out this discussion thread.
Thanks to some of our members for adding a couple of new meetups to the calendar. Check out the upcoming UW Geology Museum's Open House and the Bird Watching Walk. Anyone can add a meetup! Go to the group home page and click on Schedule a New Meetup.
See you Thurs April 4th!
Kris Hammargren, Co-organizer
