I hope you have been working on your shots inspired by one of your favorite photos or photographers. Trying to replicate a look or technique by someone you admire can be a great way to learn new skills and take your photography to a new level. I'm looking forward to seeing your shots at the May monthly meeting on Thurs May 2 at 6:30 pm at the Middleton library.
In other activities this month, our members danced with fire on Tower Hill, viewed the beautiful minerals and fossils at the UW Geology Museum, and got an intro to Lightroom and learned about aperture with our group sponsor The Camera Company. If you haven't seen the amazing light painting photos on our flickr group page, click thru right now and take a look! Don't worry if you missed the meetup, you'll have another chance to play with fire with co-organizer Bill on Fri May 10.
There are other meetups coming up too: a bird watching walk and a visit to the photography exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum, both on Sat May 11. And don't miss our first ever photo scavenger hunt led by co-organizer Steven on Sat May 18!
At next week's monthly meeting, Adam will lead a discussion of depth of field. So bring your questions and your "Pick Three" photos to share. For help uploading your photos to our flickr group, check out this thread on the discussion board. Please tag them "May2013Meeting."
See you on May 2nd!
