Happy End of Daylight Savings, Photographers!

From: Kris H.
Sent on: Sunday, November 3, 2013 11:16 AM

So use that extra hour today to take some pictures!

Tonight Co-organizer Katie will be in Indian Lake County Park to host a session on Star and Milky Way Photography. And then be sure to come out to the November monthly meeting on Thursday.

Co-organizer Steven will host us at the offices of Midwest Family Broadcasting. We have a real treat at this one: Mario Quintana, an instructor in photography at MATC, will be our special guest speaker. He has been teaching at Madison College since 1998. He will be joining us to talk about color theory and how to work with colors or the lack thereof (in black & white) in your photos. Don't miss this one!

Submit Your Photos by Wed 11/6 4 pm

I hope you have been trying to take a photo a day for our Project 34 challenge from the October monthly meeting, because it's time to upload 3 of your images for our Pick Three slideshow. This is one of the highlights of our monthly meetings where you get to share your work! Upload three favorites or a collage of all your shots from the month. (As we learned at yesterday's photo editing workshop, PicMonkey is a nice choice for making collages.)

Upload your images or collages to your Flickr account, tag them "Nov2013Meeting," and then add them to our Flickr group. For tips on adding your photos, check out this post in our discussion boards.

There have been several opportunities over the last month to join other Meetup members out and about: in a west-side office park for some architectural photography, on a field trip to Chicago, or at the farm for fall photos. Why take a photo a day? To improve your skills, reveal your personal style, and capture daily moments. Co-organizer Katie is in her 3rd year of a 365 Project. You can follow her on or even start your own.

See you on Thursday!

Kris, Co-organizer
