TGIF, photographers! Thank goodness it's (almost) February!
And it's time for our next monthly meetup! Join us next Thursday evening Feb 6th at the Middleton library. We'll share our photos and hear from co-organizer Steven on monochromatic photography.
The technique challenge from co-organizer Bill at the January monthly meeting was working with aperture.
Submit your photos
The highlight of the monthly meetup for me is always the member slideshow. I love seeing your photos up on the big screen! Send in up to 3 of your shots on the monthly challenge topic: aperture (or another subject, if you prefer) by 6pm Wed Feb 5th to be included in our Pick Three slideshow. As the photos are presented, you'll have an opportunity to introduce yourself, talk about your shots, ask questions, and receive feedback. To be included, post your photos to our Flickr group and be sure to tag them "Feb2014Meeting." For help posting to Flickr, click here.
It was great to see everyone, including new members!, at our Photo Book Show & Tell and at the Coffeehouse Concert earlier this month. And there's more coming up!
Don't miss the backstage tour at the Overture Center on Sat Feb 1st. If you've signed up already but can't make it, please update your rsvp to open up a spot to someone on the waiting list.
Have you heard of cosplay? People dress up as their favorite characters from pop culture with amazing detail and commitment. And they make for great portrait subjects! In cooperation with the Geekery Meetup Group, you'll have the chance to try portraits in a studio-type environment at the Fitchburg library on Sun Feb 16th. To see what it looked like at the last cosplay shoot, click here.
Hope to see you next Thursday! Stay warm and keep shooting!
