    Eileen you can resize your images for lower resolution( which is not noticeable) using some websites or software

    Microsoft Office Picture Manager will do this. Click on edit pictures and then resize near the bottom right. Do a save as and change the name so you retain the original. You can also download fotosizer here: http://www.fotosizer.com/ it's free. You can do a batch resize to shrink multiple photos and save the to upload.

    If you interested in a photo processing software, gimp is free and it will work in windows. Images out of the camera have high resolution above 72pixels per inch. The computer monitors don't neede anything above 72pixels per inch. You can reduce the resolution to somewhere near 72pixels per inch and this will reduce the image size. Another option is to reduce the image size. Most images displayed in flickr or websites are not more than 15inches in height or width.
