Renaissance Festival Returns to Deerfield Beach

Admission: Adult $20; seniors (65+ with ID) receive a discount at the Fair ticket booths.

Hear ye, hear ye! All are invited to join the event organizers and photography class teachers for a photo filled day at the 21st annual Renaissance Festival. We have chosen to go for the ‘Themed Weekend’ event of “Pillage of the Village”. Beware, me hearty!!!

This promises to be a ‘street photographers’ Nirvana. The festival is full of costumed ‘players’ (official and paying guests) and everyone loves to have their photo taken. Stroll through the enchanted Craft Village – see merchants and artisans demonstrate and sell their wares. Behold glass blowing, hammered pewter, wooden toys, unique pottery, clothing and a wealth of other riches.

Applaud hundreds of performers, not only on the twelve stages but literally all around you. Photograph sword fighters, battling knights, minstrels, magicians, wenches and more.

Lots of feasting can be had after you have filled your camera cards or drained your batteries and when you want to rest your shutter release finger – then there are plenty of games of chance for you to enjoy.

PARKING: There are plenty of parking attendants to guide you to a good spot on the lawns. A small Broward County Park fee of $1.50 is collected at the park entrance when you turn onto the park property from Powerline Road.

I arrived 30 minutes late to the festival and missed the opportunity to meet everyone; however, I had fun roaming around taking photos.

Excellent venue, as always, to find all sorts of people willing to have their photo taken in the craziest of get-ups! Another good event - despite the early chilly temps this year.

The WEb Site says that a group of 20 or more gets in for $15. Have we been given that discount since we are going to be well more than 20?

    February 14, 2013

    • Jerry Whitty

Bob, even tho a large number of people sign up to attend these events, we can never predict the actual number that will be there. Weather, other circumstances, etc factor in to the attendance, Also not everyone shows up at the same time. So we can not guarantee the event a specific number to get discounts. Each individual will be responsible for purchasing their own ticket.
