Producing consistent and high quality fine art or commercial portfolio inkjet prints requires a combination of the right equipment as well as an understanding of color management and workflow. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has many built-in tools for automating the print process.

This full day lecture-style workshop with author and photographer Andrew Darlow includes the following:

* Suggested inkjet printers for quality color and black and white printing (emphasis will be on Canon, Epson and HP pigment ink printers)

* Tips for selecting inkjet papers, canvas and coatings for color and black and white printing;

* Suggested color management hardware and software for inkjet printing, and how to produce, install and use custom printer profiles;

* Demonstration of a step-by-step proofing and printing workflow using Lightroom 4 and a pigment-based inkjet printer

* Specific Lightroom Develop and Print Module tips for converting from color to black and white, sharpening, cropping and sizing;

* How to download, create and use custom templates when printing contact sheets, portfolio pages, etc.;

* Specific tips and time-saving techniques for specific models of inkjet printers; and

* Links to and demonstrations of additional resources to help optimize print quality.

Sample prints and presentation materials (books, portfolios, etc.) will be displayed and discussed, and each participant will also receive a binder with course materials, listings of resources and materials, a calibration print, and a minimum of 40 sheets of letter-size fine-art sample papers.

Level: Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and inkjet printing required.
