  • Looking for something a little difference, well here is a a two part workshop/event on Environmental Portraits which ends with a unique visit to a local brewery where we will spend a whole morning photographing the staff as they work.

Making great portraits of people in their workplace or as it is beeter known,  'environmental portraiture' , is a popular subject that  has been around since the dawn of photography. To do it well takes particular skill and here is your unique chance to experience creating such portraits at first hand.

We begin on Monday evening  at 7pm with a  two hour introduction covering such topics as:

    • Using the right equipment
    • How to handle the light
    • How to deal with the work-space
    • How to 'keep it real'

Two days later at approximately 7am on Wednesday morning we head to the  Mayflower Brewery in Plymouth where we will be granted the privilege to be present during  the brewing process while creating a series of environmental portraits.

This is a great 'microbrewery' with excellent beer. It is extremely generous of them toi afford us the opportuinity to prectice our skills while they work around us.  Becuase of the size of the brewery space is strictly limited to just five participants.  The cost is $100 per person and you must be over 21 years of age with a valid ID to participate.

Ian is it possible to attend if I skip the 7pm session on Monday. You could perhaps email me some material to cover your instructions. Thanks

We have permission to shoot from 7am until we are done.
I expect two to three hours will be long enough.
