What we’re about

We are a group dedicated to improving our photographic skills by participating in photo shoots, workshops, travel workshops and one on one instruction. We are open to all levels from beginners with point and shoots to professionals who want to learn new skills in all areas of photography from digital to film, from camera controls to lighting, and all the way to post-processing in Photoshop.

Led by professional photographer and qualified teacher, Ian Murray, who has over 40 years of experience, the majority of the meetups offered by this group involve high quality teachng in small groups. For these workshops there is a fee of $20 and upwards depending on the subject, location and the group size.

We will regularly offer free classes and events and will provide occasional scholarships and free spaces for those unable to afford workshop fees.

If you are looking for high quality workshops with a great teacher and don't mind paying a fee to attend then this is the group for you. Ian has been widely published, including having his work selected for inclusion in the book "Photos that Inspire". He has taught at several well known colleges and more recently at the ICA in Boston. With over 450 successful events and workshops already held, this group is one of the premier New England photography teaching groups. The classes and workshops invariably receive a maximum rating and rave reviews from our members.

If you are looking for just a social gathering of photographers and are not looking for paid instruction you are very welcome to stick around and join our occasional free meetups - we love to hang out with other photographers! If you are serious about improving your photography skills with some Top-class instruction at a great price, then this is the place for you.

Either way we don't charge a membership fee.

Read the group reviews and you will be assured that the workshops offered by this group are uniquely special and of a very high quality.

Please note that many of the workshops have a very strict limit on numbers and payment is required in advance. To maintain the high quality of attention provided by such a small group approach it is necessary to have a policy of no refunds or credits of any kind if you cancel at the last minute or don't show. This enables the classes to be kept cost effective and keeps the cost down to a reasonable level for everyone. Of course, if the class is cancelled or has to be re-scheduled then a full refund is given.
