Flash, Fill and Reflectors - An introductory Workshop.

Using Flash and refelctors outdoors is an essential part of the photographers arsenal of techniques. With the popularity of outdoor protraiture the use of fill flash and reflectors to model the light has become more important than ever. Learning a number of simple techniques which you can use without having to spend a fortune on gear will help you to model the light for great outdoor portraits.

This introductory workshop will cover:

On camera flash.
Bouncing the flash.
Flash compensation.
Metering for flash.
Off camera flash.
Use of reflectors.
Simple fill flash.

This workshop is suitable for experienced and intermediate photographers. It will assume that you already know how to change the aperture and shutter speed and are reasonably familiar with using your camera off its automatic setting. Some familiarity with using off camera falsh would be useful, e.g. setting the flash compensation.

You should bring:

Tripod and an off-camera flash if you have one.
A small tea tray and a roll of aluminum foil would also be useful.
A hat or selection of hats if you have them.

The workshop will begin at 10 and end at 1 pm.
The location wil be Plymouth Center.
The workshop will be led by Professional Photographer, Ian Murray.

If the workshop has sufficient attendees who book early we will hire a model, otherwise we will be photographing each other.

Considerable preparation goes into the setting up of this workshop - please do not leave your booking to the last minute. Those not booking by the deadline will not be able to attend.
