Join the Photography Workshops' Fall Photo-School
Starting in late September, Photography workshops will be offering a 6 session photo-school for intermediate photographers looking to improve their skills and learn new techniques.
The school will offer six sessions (three evenings and three full day on location classes) that will cover a wide range of photography from abstract macros, through stunning landscapes to creative portraiture. You will learn to direct a viewer's eye around your image, and master advanced compositional techniques. Instruction will be given on mastering the finer points of depth of field and you will get plenty of hands-on experience shooting portraits under several lighting setups, both indoors and outdoors.
Three of the sessions will run on Thursday evenings from 7pm - 10pm at an indoor location in the Braintree area. The other three sessions will be full day outdoor workshops on Saturdays as follows:
1. Advanced Camera Control

2. Advanced Composition
Saturday OCT 1 outdoors 10am - 5pm Boston
Get beyond the rule of thirds and explore:
• The Gestalt of image composition

Unlike most photography schools this will be a unique opportunity to experience quality instruction in a very small group (8 max) that will ensure you will get lots of attention. It will provide a unique mix of indoor classroom style learning coupled with full day workshops on location. The cost of just $575 covers all six classes, handouts, exercises and image review giving more than 40 hours of quality instruction with professional photographer, Ian Murray for less than $15 per hour. At the end of the sessions Ian will conduct a detailed review and critique of twenty of your images.
Please note: The fee does not include meals or travel costs to the various locations. However, car pooling may be available.
Ian Murray is a professional photographer with over 40 years of experience. He is also a fully trained and qualified teacher of adults having a graduate degree in education. He works full time as a portrait photographer and is regularly hired to photograph concerts and music festivals.
