Saturday March 10th -Absolute Beginner’s Class 10am – 1pm
South Station Boston.
Join us for a class in and around South Station in Boston, that is specifically aimed at absolute beginners. No confusing jargon, no embarrassment when you ask a question just some excellent instruction from Ian that will have you taming your camera in no time. The class is kept deliberately small to ensure you get a lot of attention.

Saturday March 17th Mastering your metering modes 9am - 12
Mastering the various metering modes on your camera is a way to get more control over contrasting situations and is an important skill for creating images in which the key elements are correctly or creatively exposed.
If you want to learn how to master this essential feature of your camera then come along to this meetup. We will be a fairly small group, just 8 attendees, so you will be sure to get plenty of attention.
Saturday March 17th Depth of field Master Class 2pm – 5pm
Join this class and you will learn how to select the correct aperture, focal length and object distance to ensure you get the depth of field you are looking for. This workshop will take the mystery out of depth of field and enable you to know with absolute certainty the focus limits of every shot you take. We will meet at 2pm and the class will end at approximately 5pm to ensure a high quality of attention and tuition there is a strict limit of 8 attendees for this class, which is suitable for intermediate and advanced level photographers.

Sunday March 18th The Four Elements in one day 10am – 4pm

How do you become a better photographer?
There is a simple one word answer – PRACTICE!
However, practice alone is not enough; practice needs to be done with a purpose, it needs to be carefully directed in order to be effective.
This class will introduce you to the key elements that you need to master to become a better photographer:
· Vision – improving the way you see
· Light – understanding how to see it, how it works and how to respond to it.
· Composition – recognizing and arranging the elements in your image to communicate strongly
· Technique – exposure, metering and putting it all together.
It will inspire you to practice with a purpose and provide you with ideas and exercises that will direct your practice, and enable you to develop your skills with real purpose.
Monday March 19th Introducing Lightroom 4. 7pm- 10pm
Lightroom 4 has been released and is receiving rave reviews for its massively improved develop module and the brand new book creation module.
Ian has been testing the Beta version for many weeks and is well placed to walk you through the essential information and tips that will help you get to grips with many changes and improvements in the new version.
Whether you are already using an older version of Lightroom or just want to learn what it can do before buying a copy then you will gain from attending this class.

Sunday March 25th Mastering Canon Flash 10am -3pm
This is a workshop specifically for those wishing to get to grips with the use of flash with Canon Cameras.
We will cover the basics of Speedlight photography including
· On camera Flash
· Bounce and fill Flash
· Flash Compensation
· Off Camera Flash
· The advanced flash controls of the Speedlight
· Slow and fast flash sync
· First and second curtain flash.
· Simple studio set-ups using one and two Speedlights.
You will need a Canon SLR and any model of Speedlight.

Introduction to Studio Lighting Techniques

Monday April 2 - Lighting the fine-art nude – 7pm – 10pm
One of the most challenging lighting set-ups involves correctly lighting the nude body.
Photographing the “Fine art Nude” will be an introductory workshop with an experienced professional model during which you will receive instruction in lighting the nude and you will be given ample opportunity to shoot our model for the evening.
To maintain a comfortable atmosphere the class will be very strictly limited to just six participants, hence the cost will be a slightly higher than usual $150 per person.
The class will run from 7pm until 10pm.
Saturday April 7 - Cliffs, Ocean and Lighthouses - the Southern Coast of Maine- Workshop
York Maine, 10am – evening.
Join the group as we head out to the stunning but easily accessible coast of Southern Maine. We will spend a full day photographing in and around York and Ogunquit - we will do some cliff walking (easy) and make detours to such interesting places as the wiggly bridge in York and end at Nubble light just as the sun begins to go down. We will stop for lunch in Perkins Cove where you can send some time exploring the quaint shops and the drawbridge which crosses the harbor. There will be lots of instructional advice from Ian and some optional exercises. As usual we will keep the group size down to eight so you will get plenty of care and attention.
