A Weekend of real learning (and fun!)
Join us this weekend for a full program of photography instruction as we cover many of the key skills and practical techniques that improve our image making.
Saturday gives two opportunities to get to grips with your camera’s advanced controls as we take an in-depth hands-on approach to Metering and Depth of field.
Sunday is a unique opportunity to learn how to get the scene in front of you converted into a stunning image. The four key elements of photography tackled in our indoor workshop.
Each of these classes are suitable for all levels and as usual will be led by Ian in his gentle and humorous teaching style. Whichever workshop you take, you will be challenged to think and try out new skills, and you are guaranteed to have fun.
Master your Camera’s Metering Modes
Learning how to master your camera’s metering is the key to controlling exposure – get familiar with this essential skill and you can dramatically increase your creativity,
Saturday Morning 9am – 12 noon Harvard Square. $35 class limit of six.
Take total control of your Depth of Field
Understanding how your choice of lens, f-stop and focus distance combine to give you exactly the right amount of focus in your image is another key skill that will massively improve your photography.
Join the group in Harvard Square from 2pm to 5pm as we get out the tape measure and attempt some challenging focus problems under Ian’s expert guidance.
The class is limited to just 6 participants and costs $40

The Four Key Elements in One day
Sunday March 18th 10am – 4pm Just $55
Are you frequently disappointed by the results of your photography? Do your photographs rarely match up to the scene you had in front of you when you pressed the shutter? Well here is a class that will get you headed in the right direction when it comes to understanding how to take that three dimensional scene that you experience with all of your senses and convert it to a stunning two dimensional visual image.
We will take a look at the four key elements that go into making a good photograph:

With a firm understanding of each you can massively improve your image making.
This was originally a series of four classes that cost $160. Take the opportunity to get it all in one day for the low price of $60. The class will take place indoors at Ian Murray Photography, Pembroke MA.
