WELCOME TO PIEDMONT PREPPERS NETWORK! A brand new group located in Burlington. It is not by chance you have discovered this group!! Many people have said to me they feel or sense "something" is going on, but just don't know what to do about it. Well - Congratulations you have come to the right place. We all have different reasons for wanting to join a group like Piedmont Preppers, but most likely, you are reading this because you feel the future is not as bright as it once was and you want to do something to ensure that you get through the tough times ahead. Whether your motivation is to put aside some extra food to tide you over in the event of a job loss or medical emergency, prefer to be able to sit tight for a few days following an extended Weather Emergency, Power Outage, or you have noticed the world is a mite unstable these days and are looking for a bit of personal sustainability - this is the place to be! PIEDMONT PREPPERS Is a group of everyday, hard working people dedicated to learning, teaching and sharing ideas about disaster preparedness, be it natural or manmade. Please know we are not ex military, tactical or survival experts. We are learning along with everyone else. The goal is to create a community network of individuals with a true desire to learn and share their knowledge and skill set(s). This covers a broad range of topics, but it all boils down to establishing a network of folks to share ideas with, learn from and eventually hope to trust should the need arise. We prepare, assume responsibility, take action and produce results. Join us on our journey to become ever more self reliant, prepared and able to help ourselves, family, neighbors and others should the unimaginable happen. With a wealth of information and resources at our disposal, we will learn from and support one another through whatever obstacles and challenges life presents and confidently be able to take care of our loved ones in good times and bad. In light of current world events, we find it imperative to educate people on preparing to survive crisis and disaster situations. As we saw recently with Super Storm Sandy, Winter Storm Nemo, Hurricane Katrina, earthquakes, flashfloods, forest fires, all result in horrific devastation. Our goal is to prepare as we face very real threats of natural disasters, terrorist attacks, US and worldwide economic collapse and pandemics for which the majority of people are not prepared. The focus of this group is to take a realistic look at all aspects of being prepared for whatever life throws at us, to create a community of support, for open dialog, teaching and learning from one another, to create a curriculum of study, preparedness, and a Plan of Action. We encourage active participation and welcome anyone and everyone who wants to learn, teach, and contribute to this community about EVERY ASPECT of Preparedness from Learning old lost skills, Water Storage and Purification, Food Preservation and Storage, Gardening, Cooking, Shelter, Communication, Security and Protection, Sanitation, First Aid, Carpentry, Sewing, Self Defense, Fitness, Camping, Hiking, Hunting, Fishing and Foraging, Wild Editable Foods, Herbs, Off the Grid Living, Solar and Alternative Energy, Biochemistry, Permaculture, Primitive Living, Urban and Wilderness Survival, and so on. "We will Learn, Share and Grow our Skills together". The Goal: Our founding goal is to create a community network of like-minded individuals to share their knowledge of all things related to self-sufficiency. This covers a broad range of topics by establishing a network of folks to share ideas with, learn from and eventually hope to trust should the need arise. Prepping takes a determination and a solid commitment. We encourage you before you decide to join, please make a commitment to yourself, your family and then to the group by attending as many meetings & events as possible. We know that everyone has a busy life & that life has pressing issues to attend to, but we hope for committed members to join our meetup group. We are a group for Active Involvement, not a passive chat only forum. IMPORTANT… This is NOT a political, religious, militia or conspiracy group. We welcome all religious, social and political groups so long as you're interested in relieving suffering rather than causing it. We are focused on building communities based on trust; acceptance and mutual respect and expect all of our members to adhere to these principles. We expect that all our members will be focused on helping to build communities or mutual assistance groups that will help each other in times of need. Preppers of all skill levels welcome and wanted.
