The Pine Point Board Needs YOU!

Yes that is right.  Pine Point needs members to step forward to help keep the club running.
At this time, we have four of five positions open.
Current board members having given 2, 4, 5, and 6 years of time to Pine Point are now stepping aside to allow other members a turn to volunteer. New members will be elected at the Annual Meeting, scheduled April 19th, described below.  Contact a current board member to let him/her know of your interest in contributing to this great organization!

Annual Meeting

Again? Yes it is never too early to start thinking about how you may contribute to the club!
Our Annual Meeting is coming up on April 19th, at our usual meeting place – O'Donovan's on Irving Park Road in Chicago. Do plan attend at this important meeting where we discuss the business of the club, and elect officers for the coming year.  (You do have to be a paid member to vote and we need a quorum to hold the elections. Since there is no line up yet, let me tell you a bit about each position so that you can volunteer to fill a spot, or convince a friend that it is time for them to help the club:

  • President – presides over all proceedings of the organization and coordinates communication with CMSC

  • Treasurer – keeps track of our monies, which is no mean feat cause we have to have the cash available to reserve all those great trips during the summer then plan the payment schedule to be sure our checkbook never runs dry.

  • Western Trips – negotiates the very best deals to the places we want to go (based upon the annual survey), and then coordinates the Trip Leaders to take over for the sign-ups/deposits/ communications/ fun. 

  • Midwestern Trips – does the same as the Western Trips role except for Midwest trips.  For the past 3 years we have rotated with the Friars in coordinating the Midwest trips, the new board will determine if we want to continue this way, or do our own planning.

  • Membership – keeps track of our members, dues payments, and mailing lists and organizes the Season Kick-off party in the Fall.  Also gets to meet all our new members!

  • Communications – keeps the membership informed of what's happening through this very important newsletter and the Website.

  • Other appointed (meaning non – Board) positions include: Trip Leaders, Activity Leaders, Ski Meister (coordinates communications with our race team), Web Meister (keeps our website up to date).
