OK, on the menu (pending results of the grocery and farmer's market availability):
Flank, brisket, and skirt steak
Pico de Gallo (to you Nortenjos, that is a fresh salad/salsa with cillantro, onions, tomatos, and lime),
Frijoles Refritas with Monterrey Jack cheese,
Green Beans wok'ed with sweet peas, onions and rosemary,
Eggplant roasted with tomatoes, black beans and Chili Poblano slices; some with ground turkey and some vegetarian.
Roasted Sweet chili
Lots of other sides and deserts.
Feel free to bring anything you like as well. We are cooking for some 80 people all told. we have 60 RSVP's via here and Evite.com for the cookout at noon (family), and about 25-30 for the evening event.
Anyone that wants to help cook, set up tables, move stuff around, knock together these park benches, clean, or anything else on the huge list of things to accomplish in the next 21 hours and 15 minutes please give me a call or just show up!
Note to veggie-only folks: Non meat dishes will be strictly non-meat and carefully segregated. Nothing out of cans, prepared packages etc... The refried beans will have cheese, but you will find plenty else.
