It doesn't look like it, but the basic usable desk is about finished. The team really did a LOT of work on this yesterday. The backsplash you see here and the little corner shelves, trim, and all the outlets and ethernet ports, wiring, gfci's and all that is actually a pretty complex project in of itself. It is all countersunk, screwed and bunged (plugs in the screw holes) type cabinetry, not nailed; and working with some very thin fine material. The outlets are mounted rock solid, and so is the desk. David, Alex, Andy, Don, Sam, Clint and myself got it just about to the point that it is ready to be mounted. After that, it is straight to putting on a ton of varnish, and get coding! Dylan got tasked with the firewall system. We have touched on 3 different OS's for doing that, and encountered some little issues and limitations with each. I hope we can hear a "lessons learned" presentation on implementing the firewall system at a SLUG (SunCoast Linux User's Group) soon. I am sure Dylan and Sam would be happy to put us through their experience getting to what becomes the final system configuration.
