Data Wrangling with MongoDB

Udacity is offering a Data Wrangling with MongoDB class. Anyone interested in a Northampton-area regular meetup to work through these materials? The basic course is free, and more details are given below:

n this course, we will explore how to wrangle data from diverse sources and shape it to enable data-driven applications. Some data scientists spend the bulk of their time doing this!

Students will learn how to gather and extract data from widely use data formats. They will learn how to assess the quality of data and explore best practices for data cleaning. We will also introduce students to MongoDB, covering the essentials of storing data and the MongoDB query language together with exploratory analysis using the MongoDB aggregation framework.

This is a great course for those interested in entry-level data science positions as well as current business/data analysts looking to add big data to their repertoire, and managers working with data professionals or looking to leverage big data.

Just to confirm: we're still planning on meeting in Easthampton this evening?

I'd like to participate but I'm spend Memorial Day with my family. How many weeks do we plan on going through materials?

Moving to the 26th as that's better for me, and others as well. Sorry for those who were really looking forward to it tonight.

When you say “the basic course is free”, are you referring to what Udacity calls its “courseware”? And is this all that you plan to review in the meetup?

I'll be in and out of town next week, Mon-Thurs, so won't be able to make this time. I don't suppose it'd be just as easy to do the following Monday? If not, no worries, we don't want to be chasing free times all summer long!

Is someone interested in picking a date and location for this? Have others been working through the course materials?

I've started the course, I can ask about using the Atalasoft conference room (we're in the Eastworks in Easthampton).

That would be great, if there are some folks in the area that this would draw.

    I'm interested.
