January Accessibility Meetup

Happy New Year everyone!

I’m excited to announce our next monthly meet up will be later this month!

Come join us Thursday January 30th from 5:30-7:30pm at the East Liberty Carnegie Library.  We’ll be meeting on the second floor in room 3B.

Talks

1. Johnathan Duvall - Sidewalk Accessibility and the Human Engineering Research Laboratory

Jonathan is a PhD student in Rehabilitation Sciences and President of Students for Disability Advocacy at the University of Pittsburgh.


2. Jeff Bigham - VizWiz at tool for the blind to receive quick answers to questions about their surroundings. 

Jeff is a professor of Human Computer interaction at CMU. His research focuses on solving hard problems that can’t be tackled be humans or computers on their own.


3. Call for Speakers

We wanted to leave a spot open for someone in the community to speak. Do you have something you want to present, or know someone who does?     terrific,
    Excellent speakers.
    I wish that this meet-up could be longer.

    I would have liked a format of maybe 3-5PM
    then a half hour break then 5:30-7:30PM.

    Would really like to see this meet-up expanded
    into something bigger
