Carnegie Museum of Art is on a roll. More than 2,000 happy, or at least bemused, people -- bakers and architects, students and faculty, children and seniors -- celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Heinz Architectural Center Saturday with cake, ice cream and a new exhibition. Next week, another event that invites visitor participation will be held, but you can get in on it now. "Oh Snap! Your Take on Our Photographs" will combine new additions to the museum's growing photography collection with photographs submitted by the public -- online now or at the museum Feb. 21.
The night will open at 6 p.m. with a Culture Club salon-style discussion in the exhibition gallery ($10 includes museum admission, discussion and one drink ticket). Following, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., will be the official "Oh Snap!" launch, with DJ Gordy G (of Title Town), a photo booth, light graffiti, snacks and a cash bar with cocktails and Great Lakes brews (free admission). Museum staff will be printing images in the gallery and adding visitor photos to the walls as the project evolves.
