Show and Tell

For our next Meetup I would like to open our work to genuine and honest critique. As was mentioned at the first get together, I would like everyone to bring two pieces of their work. One piece should be finished and ready for presentation. That means mounted, matted and framed or however you would want your work hung in a gallery. The other piece should be a work in progress. That means it could be just a raw image with little or no post work done or perhaps a piece you want some feed back on. I am looking to generate a lively conversation. We had a pretty good turnout for the first but I would like to see more of you attend.

Enjoyed meeting the other members, seeing the diversity of subject matter and discussing future projects.

It was excellent to get a chance to meet everyone and get an idea of what each one of us is into...I learned quite a bit about gallery standards and processing techniques as well. Thank you!

If this ends on schedule around 8pm, would anyone else be interested in heading to somewhere on the North Side to grab some pics of the Andy Warhol Bridge (weather permitting)? If so, bring your camera....

John, I'd love to join you, but I'm caught up in a huge project that has gobbled up all my time. I look forward to meeting with you at a future event.

One question - Where in the library is the gathering?

Hi Everyone. I will try to make meeting on the 15th. As they say, When you retire you seem busier than ever. See you at the meeting.

I might be able to get there by 6:30. However, I don't have anything to show, as I have nothing printed or in final form right now. Does that mean I should not belong to this group or attend?

Not at all. Please attend. We would like to see your work. Maybe pick up some ideas or suggestions.

Also, I had asked if there would be some kind of summary/minutes after meet ups to keep those of us who could not attend a meeting in the loop as to what was talked about. No one responded to me...

That may be a bit formal for this group but you're always welcome to email me or any other member if you have questions.

Sorry, I have a conflict that night, but will try and keep the 3rd Thursdays open in the future. Like the location too.

Assuming work doesn't get in the way. Will likely only be able to bring rough work though. Nothing gallery ready...not even exactly sure I would know what to do to prepare something for a gallery.

    Probably as spectator only.

Is it OK if I attend just to observe? I am working on a massive project and taking a trip between now and then, so I'm not sure I can get around to framing a piece. (Although I might be able to pull something from an existing frame and insert another ---if it fits and I have time.)

Sure Carol, that would be fine. I would like to get as many members as possible.
