Share the journey, Build a community,
Meet other parents who practice Attachment Parenting!
Attachment Parenting focuses on forming and nurturing strong bonds between parents and their children. Attachment Parenting challenges us as parents to treat our children with kindness, respect and dignity, and to model in our interactions with them the way we'd like them to interact with others.
And while this approach sounds simple, attachment parents often find themselves alone on this parenting journey. Nearly two years ago, we saw the need for a community of like-minded parents in Pittsburgh and started this group. Since its inception, Pittsburgh Attachment Parenting Meetup Group has grown and evolved. We are all happy to be sharing this journey, supporting one another, and building a community based on respect for ourselves and our children.
If you find yourself walking on the ‘crunchy’ side of the parenting continuum, join us!
This group is for open-minded parents interested in any (not necessarily all) aspects of Attachment Parenting: including thoughtful preparation for parenthood, breastfeeding and child-led weaning, babywearing, co-sleeping, building a relationship with one’s child based on trust and respect, and positive/gentle discipline.
And while many in our ranks also share interests in cloth diapering, elimination communication, child-led potty learning, alternative education options, natural family living, holistic health, organic/whole food, and green/sustainable living, these are secondary to our commitment to attachment parenting.
