Pittsburgh has a large, active community of poly-theists, but just about all of the general groups I've found are geared more toward Pagans, Neo-Pagans, and Wiccans. Many welcome Heathens as part of the community, which is fantastic!
But, there should be a group for Heathens to be able to meet and get together informally with other local Heathens.
The purpose of this group is for Heathens, Asatruar, Theodsmen, Norse Pagans, and all in between to get together for good discussions, socializing, and fun.
Activities will include pubmoots and cafe' meet ups for informal chat and fun, as well as discussion groups. We also have plans to attend larger community and Pagan gathering (ex. the Greater Pittsburgh Pagan Pride Day).
Some examples of discussion topics we would like to explore in the future:
- Heathen faith, beliefs, and practices (the Gods, blóts, etc)
- Lore and history (the Sagas, the Eddas, historical practices, etc)
- Galdr, seiðr, the runes, divination, magic
- Modern issues and concerns witin the Heathen community
- Occult topics not specifically related to Heathenry
Suggestions are always accepted!
We are looking forward to meeting the local Heathen community, but this group is not closed to those who are not Heathens. We welcome all who are interested and RESPECTFUL.
This group is not affiliated with any one specific kindred, tribe, clan, or hearth. The organizers are founding members of a kindred based in Pittsburgh and Columbus OH. This group isn't meant for recruiting, but we are always open if you have any questions.
