About Titanium

A free and open source application development platform, Titanium lets you create native mobile, tablet and desktop application experiences using JavaScript.

That's right, with JavaScript, you can build your application in a single language, and then deploy NATIVE apps to iOS, Android, and Blackberry is coming soon. You can also deploy directly to OSX, Windows, and Linux. In this meeting, we'll develop and review a basic application and show how you can build and deploy your application (almost) anywhere within minutes.

About Adobe AIR

The Adobe AIR runtime enables JavaScript developers to build rich Internet applications that deploy on the desktop. AIR applications run across operating systems on the WebKit HTML engine and are easily delivered using a single installer file.

With Adobe AIR, JavaScript developers can use their existing skills and code to build responsive, highly engaging applications that combine the power of local resources and data with the reach of the web.

Hey guys, I've started up a Titanium Meetup to see if there's enough interest to warrant a group of its own for mobile development. I'll be sure to mention it tomorrow at the meetup, but sign up here in the meantime if you are interested: http://www.meetup.com/Pittsburgh-TUG/

Also, if anyone wants to see and further demonstrations with Titanium or perhaps some live coding, feel free to make a meetup suggestion and I'll happily put something together.
