JavaScript Game Programming

HTML5 and JavaScript games are really doing well these days. I'll go into the wonders of Canvas, some game engines, and finish with a small intro to WebGL (for the 3D side of things).

Submissions are open for speakers at this year's edition of Pittsburgh Tech Fest. Looking for some good JS talks.

Awesome! Richard did a fantastic job presenting! It was fascinating to listen to his Ludum Dare story. He also introduced a bunch of great tools to get started with js game programming, which is really useful and inspiring.

I had a good time. Hearing about Ludum Dare was particularly interesting to me.

I was planning on attending last night and would have loved to have been there. But, the storm pretty much screwed up all my plans yesterday.

Well, OpenXC is in Android which is Java-based. While some of us develop in Java, JavaScript has nothing to do with Java outside of some shared ECMA-based language features.

That said, this looks very interesting to me at least.

I plan to attend provided I can find parking, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. That last time I only found a parking lot that seemed a bit pricy for that late in the evening. Thanks....

It's 24 hours before the meetup and I havent prepared anything, not even a slide. If I cant do this one right from code and conversation, I shouldnt be doing any of these. Ill certainly be showing code, giving suggestions and advice, and answering questions a plenty. Looking forward to seeing all of you there.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
