Pittsburgh Node.js Meetup 0.5 - Node + Arduino

For a change of pace from the web world, we'll be talking about using Node.js with the infamous Arduino microcontroller. Javascript's event driven style isn't just great for the web, but also lends itself very nicely to the real world environment of microcontrollers. High level overview:

- Intro to Arduino
- Intro to some CLI Node Modules
- Making Node and Arduino talk
- Interactive demo using Node + Arduino (audience participation encouraged)

Nate put on a Good presentation (pun intended). Double bonus points for a hackable demo. There was a lot of helpful arduino information from others.

Nice. If there is time, we can even break out the Node + X10 toys.

Very cool Nate. Can't wait to see what you came up with. I'll bring my node.js joystick demo too.

Usually there is beer. I'll make sure we're stocked. Non-beer drinkers can enjoy our slushie and barista machines. There is also a ping pong table, pool table, and cinema equipped with game consoles for post meetup entertainment if anyone so desires. Hope to see you all there!

Your call. I wasn't sure if we wanted to keep doing LeBrew House or not. Our office space is available if that would be desired but I'm perfectly fine hosting it wherever. Microcontrollers are pretty portable ;-).

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
