We Christians need to understand the grace, power and security we have in Christ. I think that much of the bad reputation Christians have these days is not only self-imposed it is pretty much well-deserved. We have forgotten, or perhaps confused, what it means to be Christ's presence in the world. Christian means Christ-like but how rare it is to meet a Christian who is anything like Jesus!
We are believers in the life-example and teachings of Jesus Christ. We meet in person and via social media to share and fellowship in Christ and who believe that the greatest commandment, the one that encompasses the whole of the law and the prophets, is the most important thing we can think, say or do.
Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus replied, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
We reject fear, bigotry and self-righteousness. We do not judge one another. We welcome everyone who wishes to learn about the teachings of Jesus without regard to religious denomination or affiliation and therefore, the group does not have a prescriptive statement of faith. We do not exclude anyone for any reason other than intolerance and even then, their exclusion is a self-imposed one since intolerant people wouldn't want to be around us anyway!
I've started a blog that I hope will eventually become less of me posting and more about all of us sharing in the beauty, grace and elegance of Jesus' gospel of truth and love.
