WINE TASTING CRUISE - A Spectacular Evening of Wine, Food & Fun!
Please join us for a special evening aboard the Gateway Clipper Empress -- where guests will be pampered with a special menu perfectly paired with hand-picked wines from Northern Italy.
This is one evening you won't want to miss! About 600 guests are expected where guests experience sightseeing as well as the relaxing beauty of the Three Rivers -- with the transitions from daylight, twilight, and evening under the stars.
With so many people in the Meetup, sometimes it can be challenge meeting/mingling, especially for relatively new members when attending other events at busy art galleries, outdoor festivals, and performances at large venues such as the Benedum. So perhaps a series of fun activities that bring lots of people together would also help with introductions and spotting other members at future events.
Looking for a unique Pittsburgh Activity? Come aboard for an evening that features dinner, wine and a river cruise on the Three Rivers!
Enjoy a fabulous menu that compliments the three featured wines chosen by wine expert, Milko Miladinov. This river cruise also features boarding hors d’ouevres and a seated tasting plate dinner.
Six dates to choose! Six regions of wine! An informative and fun evening for “oenophiles” of every level! Cheers!
Board: 5:30 pm
Sail: 6:30 – 9:00 pm

When ordering tickets online, you'll notice a little box in the lower right corner which says "Notes: If you have any special requests, please enter them in the notes section below. If you’ll need a high chair, if you’d like to sit with another group, or any other request to make your visit great, just let us know." In this box, please type the reservation code "206054 MEETUP/Mark" so the group can be seated together.
If you call for tickets [masked] (then press "1" for reservations) or[masked] instead of online, please mention the reservation code "206054 MEETUP/Mark" if you would like to be seated with the group.
As always, it is also fine if you would like to enjoy this cruise on your own with family/friends
Because everyone has different commuting times to the city, this approach will be a little easier so you won't be in as much of a rush -- as long as you can board before the ship leaves the dock at 6:30 PM.
So while some people may decide to arrive early and have a bit more time to mingle and check out the ship -- it is not necessary. You'll still have a seat with the Meetup group whether you decide to arrive at 5:30 PM or board the ship before it leaves the dock at 6:30 PM.
The seating configuration is typically 8-12 people per table, so it would be great if we had several tables next to each other for those that would like to sit together.
The Gateway Clipper will be finalizing the table layout, so it would be appreciated if we had a decent RSVP count, although it might still be OK if we had smaller groups of people buying at the door.
This is our first wine tasting cruise with the Meetup group, so please be understanding.
If the wine cruise looks like it may sell out in advance, we'll try to monitor the situation and let people know so they can finalize their tickets, mostly likely in early July.
This cruise will no doubt provide guests an even deeper appreciation of how the city has awakened with so many recreational opportunities along the Three Rivers (walking trails, river kayaking, boating/fishing) recent developments with the restoration of Point State Park, preservation of nearby historic buildings, as well as new buildings enhancing Pittsburgh's modern skyline -- and more fully experience how the city and rivers really stand out in the transition from daylight, twilight, and evening under the stars.
We may never see the city the same way after experiencing the cruise!
