Ride along with Tree Pittsburgh along Pittsburgh’s beautiful Three Rivers Heritage trail. As you enjoy some outdoor exercise, you’ll also learn about the riverfront eco-system and current efforts to restore and protect it. Guides will include ecologists and foresters, as well as Tree Tender volunteers who will share information throughout the ride. You'll also catch views of restoration work along Pittsburgh's hillsides, and there is a special stop to check in on the famous Bald Eagle nest!
For the seasoned rider, there is a 20-mile route along the Monongahela and Ohio Rivers. For families, Tree Pittsburgh has designed a 5 mile, fun and friendly “Family Ride” along the Monongahela River. All Family Ride participants will receive an interactive route map that will allow children to track their stops with stickers and earn a prize at the ride finish. Also, each participant of both ride options will receive a commemorative t-shirt!
Tour des Trees will serve as Tree Pittsburgh's annual fundraiser this year. Registration is $20 for adults and $10 for kids (under 18), and all proceeds support Tree Pittsburgh’s efforts to protect our urban forest here in Pittsburgh. The ride starts and finishes at the Golden Triangle Bike Rental, located at 600 First Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Please contact Golden Triangle Bike Rental and mention "Tree Pittsburgh" for a 15% discount on bike rentals for this event. (Bike rentals are first come first served.)
