Hey everyone, this is from our friends at Goodwill, an organization that offers a lot of free and low-cost services to people trying to enter the workforce. Please contact Jackie at[masked] if you can help:
We are starting a Hispanic Youth Mentoring group for youth between the ages of 12 - 17. They are meeting here on Thursdays from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. It is a career focused mentoring program encouraging the youth to begin to think about careers and to set goals for after they finish high school. They will be doing fun projects like learning photography, doing some community service projects and working on mini-workshops like developing self-esteem and good decision making. We are looking for some Spanish-speaking adults, especially males, to work with the youth (we have a few women). Do you know of anyone who might be interested? Also, if you know of any youth who might benefit from such a group, let me know. We would love to have them. Thanks, Jackie Jackie Abel-Stavropoulos, Program Manager Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania 2600 East Carson Street, 6th flr, Pittsburgh (Southside) 15203 [masked]
We get together in groups ranging from 10-30 people about twice a month for informal conversation in Spanish. Locations are restaurants and cafes in and around Pittsburgh. We're a welcoming community for Spanish-speaking natives who are new to the city, Pittsburgh natives just beginning to study Spanish, and everyone in between.
